Washington Heights was one of the NYC neighborhoods earliest and hardest hit by the pandemic. For many students, the loss of a full year of in-person learning may permanently affect their academic outcomes. Many families are still struggling as a result of lost work and housing instability.

FYI's programs empower 1,200 low-income, immigrant and first-generation youth to achieve their greatest potential. FYI’s free, year-round programs strengthen academic skills, support social-emotional needs and mental health, and address needs from a whole-family approach with comprehensive social services to our Washington Heights families.  

My fellow board members and I are raising $100,000 for FYI’s essential educational and social service programs that support students and stabilize families. Please join us in supporting this endeavor.
