FYI Gets 4-Stars from Charity Navigator

FYI is very proud to say that we've earned a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the leading charity evaluator in America. FYI is one of only nine youth development organizations in New York State to hold the coveted 4-star rating form Charity Navigator. The organization reviews charities’ financial documents and considers how they expect a charity will use donors’ support today, how well it has sustained its programs and services over time, and their level of commitment to good governance, best practices and openness with information.

In his letter to FYI, Charity Navigator’s President and CEO Ken Berger noted that “Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way. This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Fresh Youth Initiatives from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”  The letter also says that around 25% of the charities they evaluate get their 4 stars, indicating that Fresh Youth Initiatives outperforms most other charities in America.

FYI Executive Director Steve Ramos said, “We are really honored by this rating. We have dedicated time and resources to ensuring that the quality of our governance and fiscal accountability matches the high quality of our direct programs serving our youth.”
