Neighborhood Harvest Festival Supports FYI’s Food Pantry

In its 12th year, this “country fair in the middle of the city” is planned and run entirely by neighborhood volunteers, funded by local businesses and organizations, and attended by thousands from all around Inwood & Washington Heights.  The event takes place on Fort Tryon Park’s Café Lawn this Saturday, October 19th from 1pm-4pm.

True to its grassroots nature, the festival organizers ask visitors to bring a donation of one canned food item as “admission.”  The cans are donated to FYI’s Helping Hands Food Pantry, NYC’s only youth-run, adult-facilitated food pantry.

If you attend the festival, make sure you find the FYI table and say hi to our Program Coordinator Wendy and our FYI youth who will be there enjoying the festival and accepting donations of canned goods!  All of us at FYI really appreciate the home-grown support!
