Focus Groups
Every month, on each Wednesday there is what is called a Focus Group. The participants break off into groups and learn to work together to create plays, songs, dances, poems, or just to learn. Some focus months lead to big days where parents, friends, funders, and/or sponsors come in and view what the participants have worked on.

On Thursdays the participants all join together for other kinds of workshops and games. Some things done are Jeopardy, Family Feud, Fear Factor & Truth or Dare. Other times the participants join in debates and discussions about self-esteem, body, gang violence, Nutrition Workshops, and the Talking Drum Theatre Arts Program.
Cup Stacking Competition 2007 Participants at Fresh Youth Initiatives jumped on the opportunity to be a part of history on November 8th, 2007. For those of you that don’t know, November 8th has been named National Cup Stacking Day by the World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA). On this day, FYI had the opportunity to be part of a Guiness World Record for most cup stackers stacking in multiple locations across the world. Last year’s record was a 81,252, but this year that record was crushed by the 143,530 cup stackers who participated that day. At FYI, we had about 10 participants who took part in a 30 minute cup stacking competition that included some of our veterans, as well as some of our rookie population.
